Halsey releases solo version of ‘Die 4 Me’

After originally appearing on the 2019 version of ‘Die 4 Me’ alongside Post Malone and Future, Halsey is now sharing their own solo version of the track.

“It’s been long known in my fanbase that there’s a demo of ‘Die For Me’ with just me on it,” Halsey wrote to fans. “I performed my verse on the tour all summer long and since so many people have asked for it, I decided to put my full version out as ‘Die 4 Me’… Big big thanks to @postmalone @louisbell and @future for having me on the original release and co-signing this version finally seeing daylight.”

Halsey released their latest album ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’ in 2021. In our review of the record, we said, “Across all three of her previous albums, Halsey has proved herself a master of concept, be it dystopia, director Baz Luhrmann, or a fictionalised self. Her modus operandi up till now, though, has been the medium of a more shimmering kind of alt-pop: ‘Badlands’ was ethereal and wide-eyed, ‘Hopeless Fountain Kingdom’ came from a more ambitious pop star, and then ‘Manic’ took the same ingredients and packaged them more intimately. On ‘IICHL,IWP’, though she reaches her most intense mode by breaking new musical ground. Halsey blends her trademark cinematic drama with a mixture of alt-pop and reborn punk, guided through sonic density and darkness by producers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (Nine Inch Nails) that feels almost totally disparate – and yet like ground she’s been waiting to break for ever.”
