Resident Evil 4 Remake: Savage Mutt Request Guide,'A Savage Mutt' is one of the Merchant Requests in RE4 Remake, and here's how to go about completing it.

Resident Evil 4 Remake: Savage Mutt Request Guide

In Chapter 5 of the Resident Evil 4 remake, Leon and Ashley will need to head to the Extraction Point, which can be reached by heading back through the Town Hall, Village Square, and then the Farm. However, once players get to the Typewriter and Merchant area outside the Town Hall, they can start the Savage Mutt Request by interacting with the blue note on the wall near the door.

The Savage Mutt note reads: "I need someone to get rid of the wild dog that's been roaming around the village. It'll be easy to spot; it's not like a normal dog." By defeating the threat, Leon will earn a whopping eight Spinels, which can be traded to the Merchant for rare items.

How to Complete 'A Savage Mutt' Request in RE4 Remake

Once RE4 players pick up the request, they'll need to enter the Village Square and then take the exit south towards the Village Chief's Manor, which players have accessed before during an earlier chapter.

Upon closer inspection, players might notice the icon of a scary face in the middle of the manor. Most people might think they must explore the house for the mutt, but that's not the case. After walking around for a bit, players can leave the manor and head back to the gate they came through to spot the mutt. It'll run away towards the village square for a faceoff.

However, before players leave the manor, there is some treasure they can collect if they head to the bedroom upstairs.

Look for an interactable picture frame on the wall near the bed to find a hidden lever –pull it, and a staircase will appear, taking players to the attic.

Walk the path to find an Antique Camera treasure, which can be sold for 10000 ptas to the Resident Evil 4 remake Merchant.

Fighting the Mutt

Head back to the center of the Village Square to find the threatening monster. Of course, the mutt is infected with Plagas, so it won't be easy to beat it.

Make sure to use the strongest weaponry to take it down, and if players have any Flash Grenades on hand, that'll help a ton. Also, be sure not to stand so close to the mutt to avoid unnecessary damage — it might also help to click the right stick to put Ashley into loose formation mode, allowing her to avoid attacks.

Once the beast is dead, players can pick up an Alexandrite gemstone from its body, which can be slotted into certain treasures to sell for more money.

The Resident Evil 4 remake is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
