This week on the Real Footy podcast, Michael Gleeson, Caroline Wilson discuss whether the Blues’ win over Geelong on Thursday night says more about Carlton or the reigning premiers.
The Blues have big key position players and attention-grabbing midfielders, but there is one player who flies under the radar a bit but has been crucial to their game. And speaking of key position players, Charlie Curnow’s story, from huge injury lay-off to return to star status, is a good one. Plus, young Ollie Hollands had a courageous moment against Jeremy Cameron.
The Blues showed their finals potential, and that they can make the top four. On the other hand, is it too early for concern about Geelong? There appears to be at least five wins in their next six matches, with a chunk of games played at home.
On Friday night the Pies will meet Richmond in a blockbuster clash. Last year the Tigers got an emphatic win over Collingwood. The Pies go in favourites this week, as the Daicos brothers highlight the fact that football is still a game of skill and Tom Mitchell changes the equation for his new team.
